Before dinner
Good evening ~ give or take! I haven't time to check the time and I refuse to look at the clock on the computer. That way, I can simply decide that it is evening; and leave it at that. I have been swimming and I did the whole enchilada - hair as well. Exhausting stuff with fairly long hair but what can you do?! There are those who have begged me to keep the length and coincidentally, no fewer than 4 hair stylists have basically refused to cut it short! I know, I was there each time! I have to smile at the way it turned out - every single time!So I have this long-hair curse on me (oh yeah, I do!) and so I must make with the contortions and gymnastics to handle it but hey - I'm game! Meanwhile, I am sitting here with it twirled into little knots all over the place; my attempt to bring it into a curly masterpiece... See if I don't succeed! Ha!Well it is that time of day when I begin to wonder what's it all about, Althea?! Nah... it's Alfie isn't it?! Only, I'm a girl so I said... (more)

Truth in Love
They Are Without Excuse
Without Excuse Author: Daymond Duck Source: As I understand it, God sends His wrath from heaven against sinful people because He created them with the ability to know the truth, but they suppress the truth. People have known about Him and His power since He created everything, so those who suppress the truth are really without excuse (Romans 1:18-20). - The Sedgefield Community in Ashland, VA: living without accountability, respect, or decency... Consider those who lived in Judah during Old Testament Times. About 140 years before it happened, God told the Jews they would be taken to Babylon (Micah 4:10). About 100 years before it happened, God told King Hezekiah Judah’s treasures would be taken to Babylon (Isaiah 39:1-6). About 35 years before it happened, God told Huldah the judgment of God would fall on Judah (2 Chronicles 34:22-28). About 20 years before it happened, God told... (more)

Trusting God's Word
Date: Monday, July 28, 2014 Today's Chapters: Isaiah 29-31 Message Title: Trusting God's Word The Bible, to many it is just some fictional book, to the saved soul, who loves God, it is the very breath of God in every word. It is not for us to question why God chose to put these exact people and events in His Word, nor how He chose to judge the people and nations as He did and still does. It is for us to understand the Gospel, how it is the theme of the entire book, and that God will reveal His mysteries to His people. “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to... (more)

The Common Ills
Iraq snapshot
Iraq snapshot Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Chaos and violence continue, the State Dept seems confused over weapons, the State Dept seems confused over the law, the State Dept seems confused over its mission, Nouri keeps killing civilians, and much more. At the US State Dept this morning, Secretary of State John Kerry pompously declared, "What is unfolding in Ukraine has already gone on for far too long. It’s well past time for the violence to stop and for the people of Ukraine to begin the process of rebuilding their country and rebuilding it in a way that can have a relationship with Russia, with the West." What's going on in Ukraine "has already gone on for far too long"? What about Iraq? John Kerry does grasp that in the October 2011, the US mission in Iraq was handed off from the Defense Dept to the State Dept, right? Of course he does. He was the Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations... (more)

My Little Ponies /
Monster High

OH BOY! Brushable Bon Bon. I will buy the crap out of this. At the very least, I need three. One to keep stock-ish, one to reroot and remove the extra bows from and one to maybe become Roseluck. Then I will have a perfect Bon Bon to go along with my Lyra so I can make them kiss Holly Dash, I just noticed, would need a reroot if I want to have one Rainbow Power and one like in the show. I need to figure out why my most recent reroots have ended up with wonky necks. I used to be able to do it perfectly, now, sometimes, it messes up. There seem to be two sets of Rainbow Power (sometimes Rainbow-fied) and then Rainbow Rocks . The first set of RP were crap with normal toy and lame tinsel streaks. Then, there's the ones with rainbow hair and extra markings going up their legs. See how Dash has multicolored thunder bolts? THEN, the Rainbow Power ones that have the cutiemark all over the leg and a version of their cutiemark painted around their eye. (Twilight makes me think of KISS....)... (more)
